Are the oil and gas shortage problems in the US a disaster yet?

No not yet. Economy is still high, though any more serious elevation in prices is going to send stocks down.

Why?

Because investors are worried that if people dont drive, they dont shop, or if they do drive they wont have enough money leftover to shop.

Not a win win situation. Are the oil and gas shortage problems in the US a disaster yet?
First off, there is no shortage. If you have enough money you can get any amount of gasoline you want. If you have a $1000.00 you can go to any station and get that total amount of gas, so there is no shortage. People are willing to pay higher prices, so why should they come down? Because it would make us happy? It makes the shareholders happy that profits are up for the oil companies.

At the current rate, people will run out of money long before we run out of gasoline. Are the oil and gas shortage problems in the US a disaster yet?
For me, it's the prices that are a complete disaster!!
Are people starving yet? Is most of the country unemployed? This is so far from being a disaster you must have only the faintest idea of what a disaster really is.
Abosolutely, the gas pricies are rising dramatically. It'll be weeks before it's at 20 dollars!
no we have the alaska pipeline reserve but everyone forgets about that...we could force the government to put it to use but the oil men have pulled the wool over our eyes and now we're over paying!!!!!!
While it's killing me, the prices are just reaching the normal inflationary levels
The real disaster is that we mandate dozens of special gasoline blends for different areas of the country. What's so hard about picking the cleanest, most enviro-friendly blend and making that everywhere? We are our own worst enemy.
I think it's on the verge. The reason I say that is because I live in South Carolina. I'm originally from Arizona. The cost of living in AZ is more expensive than it is in SC, but the wages are higher. The gas prices are looked at as a nation-wide thing. When they go up, everything else does too. The problem is, the wages here in SC aren't going up, but everything else is, and yeah, it's a problem.
