Are there any problems associated with using vegetable oil in Commercial diesel engines and must u mix it.?

Because of the high cost of fuel and the low cost of vegetable oils I want to try running my car on vegetable oil .I was told that originally diesel engines were designed to run solely on vegetable oil is this true..Cheers all ....Are there any problems associated with using vegetable oil in Commercial diesel engines and must u mix it.?
yes this is true but if you car is used on fuel it may coz you some problem in further, that you need to clean fuel rail.

but anyway the are both ok

fuel is more pure than vegetable oilAre there any problems associated with using vegetable oil in Commercial diesel engines and must u mix it.?
you have to a mix with diesel usualy 50/50, also change your fuel filter regularly, car takes a little longer to start in the morning, and stinks like a chippy on a saturday night. fuel gauge doesn't read acurately when engines cold. it shouldn't effect the running of the vehicle, as long as the veggie oil is clean, new or well strained, the mixture has been left to settle and the dregs at the bottom of the container thrown away rather than put in the tank, but the plus side is on the mot test the cars emmissions are way low.
I've read where u have to have a switching valve 2 start the engine on Diesel then switch 2 the oil - Then when u are going to stop , u have 2 switch back 2 diesel so it will start the next time - %26amp; the cooking oil u get from restraunts has 2 b filtered ! The army has or had engines that will run on ANYTHING that would burn.kerosene-mineral oil-cooking oil-paint thinner-mineral spirits-etc.etc
