defective pressure sensorOil Pressure problems on a 2001 jeep cherokee?
My first thought is also a defective sensor, or you would be hearing the lifters clicking,,but ASAP get a mechanical gauge on the 1/8'; pipe connection where the pressure sensor goes and actually see what you have. This before throwing money at it.

Bearings are my first concern on mains and rods.

What oil are you using? If 5W-30, go to 10-40.

Good Luck
Those are what I call a dummy guage.... I say something is up with the sensor and just needs to be replaced. In all reality if it was 0 before your eyes saw it hit 0 your motor would blow up and throw a rod and lock up.
