Does autozone check for problems during an oil change?

i have about 9100 miles on my car, i plan on taking a 1000 mile in about 2 weeks, i was planning on getting my oil change as soon as i get back, im going to bring it to autozone probably, do they check brake fluid, tire pressure, basically a overview of the car..or would it be smarter to actually bring it to a toyota dealership (my car is a toyota) sorry for the dumb question, not to good with car upkeep, but trying.Does autozone check for problems during an oil change?
Oil changes are generally given to the guy just starting off.

Autozone does not do oil changes that i have ever heard of. But in response to the one saying to take it to Jiffy Lube,I can't stress this enough - do NOT take your car to Jiffy Lube. The thing is there are some around that are good. The majority might even be good. But the fact is that they hrie people at slightly above the minimum wage. Many of the stores are owned by different companies and their goal is to make Jiffy Lube bring in a certain amount of money per car to make the numbers ';look'; good for stock holders and potential investors. The people's salary between minimum wage and $10 an hour may depend on you buying an expensive service and bringing up their ticket average. And you never know when your manager was a manager of a Pizza Hut last week and they hired him knowing full well he knows NOTHING about cars, but can make schedules and count the drawer at the end of the day.

Find a small garage that has an owner that has been around for 20 or 30 years in your area. He might get the new guy to do the oil change, but he won't leave the new guy alone until he knows he can handle it. Ask them to check to make sure it's safe for a trip. Checking brakes and stuff might cost extra, but it's worth it if you have not had a good checkup in a long time.

And don't worry. It's not a dumb question. I wish more people would ask stuff like this. Too many people just trust their car off to someone without giving it a 2nd thought. Reputation is important in our business and being known for doing things right and treating our customers fairly is something I hold as being very important.

Good question. If you go to autozone for an oil change, they'll probably give your car to somebody who works for the minimum wage. So while no one knows the future, and no one can really predict problems with your car, I think it's pretty unlikely that any low-buck chain type of place will give you a good check.

Historically, there have been a lot of USENET threads that started out with ';I took my new Corvette to Pep Boys'; and ended with a lot of people poking fun at the O.P. So you shouldn't be doing that sort of stuff.
Don't go to Autozone. Not that I have anything against them, but you can get a better deal somewhere else. The best place to take your car for this situation is Jiffy Lube. What they do is change your oil, check ALL your fluids, vacuumed the car out and tell you what you need to do maintainance wise. They take all the guesswork out of the equation. Their prices are a bit more ($40 for an oil change) but you get everything else with it. That's what I'd do if I were you.

Also, just a suggestion, get the oil changed BEFORE you go on your trip. It will be good for your engine to get those highway miles in with some fresh oil. That and you will identify any problems beforehand. Just a suggestion.
Sorry to burst your bubble but autozone just does tests I've never heard of oil changes. Do you mean pep boys? I just go to an oil change place and they check all of your fluids. And I check the brake fluid and tire pressure myself. You know the saying if you want the job done right you gotta do it yourself.
I've never heard of an autozone that does oil changes%26gt;
Most service shops of this type do a complete fluid can brakes check with an oil change. However, give them a call just to make sure before you take your car in.
