Lexus 350 owners- any problems with oil in your cars?

I read that there is a problem that is common with Lexus cars and oil sludge?Lexus 350 owners- any problems with oil in your cars?
Yes, it is a common problem with the 350.Lexus 350 owners- any problems with oil in your cars?
i have to ask KA...how can you even believe he has 'data' when he didnt provide any?

So since you'll believe anything without proof...i have a bridge in Arizona that i'd love to sell you. Report Abuse

and why does he have to look at the data...you asked the question. Cant you make up your mind for yourself by looking at the data and doing more research? or do you really need validation that badly? Report Abuse

I heard about this urban legend but have never - in my 20+ years in auto inspections business - seen it. I understand this story is invented by ford people - their creativity stops there.
What kind of 350? IS 350, RX 350, ES 350, GS 350? And no, I have an IS 350 and I haven't had any problems.
I have a IS350 now, and owned the IS300 before that, and the only problem is had in my IS300 was the battery died, and i have had no issues at all with the 350 so far, its great.

I'm guessing this is what you're referring to:

If you'll notice, it covers 1997-2002 models mostly, and only the Lexus ES and RX.

I wouldnt quite consider that a common Lexus problem by any means.

anyway, i've had 2 ISs, and both have been great and quite reliable. I might have to make it three with the IS-F!

to below: please back up with facts then. I, for instance, will say that you are full of crap, and back it up by posting this link to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administrations Office of Defects Investigation:

Go ahead and look up the complaints on the 2006+ IS. There are 4 for 2006...a seatbelt retractors, a dashboard rattle, and 2 people that dont like their review mirrors. Funny, nothing about oil problems...

another edit: yeah i think i'm taking the question as you're meaning an IS, simply because i have one. If thats not the case you need to specify. I have heard of problems with the new ES350...but i havent heard/seen anything about oil problems with the new models...only those older ones i cited in the first link above...
There is no oil sludge problem with the IS 350, and even if there was the car and engine is too new for it to develop such a problem unless the person is not performing the routine maintenance and not changing the oil.

The only oil sludge problem that would be associated with any Lexus would be the ES 300 and the RX 300 that had the 1MZ-FE V6 engine in it as it is the same engine that was in the Camry when the Camry had the sludge problem. Which was quickly rectified.
