Its a 98 altima and if you dont have oil in your clutch would the rpms go high what makes the clutch move.?

When you push your clutch pedal down it pushes a shaft or rod into an cylinder {Master Cylinder located on the firewall} which pushes fluid through the lines too another cylinder{Slave cylinder, located on the transmission} which pushes another rod and makes a fork move back and forth. This fork pushes on a bearing {Throw-out Bearing} This bearing pushes against a plate{ Pressure Plate} which releases the clutch plate, so you can shift gears.

If your fluid is low or empty you will not have the full pressure needed to release the clutch which will cause a grinding noise when you try to shift. If the engine RPMs are high and your car doesn't move then your clutch is slipping this means you have to replace the clutch plate. Hope this answers your question. Good luckIts a 98 altima and if you dont have oil in your clutch would the rpms go high what makes the clutch move.?
Your clutch is shot. The fluid releases the clutch, without fluid you cant put it into gear, but it would not slip. When you press the clutch pedal it is like pushing on the brake the motion pushes fluid to the slave cylinder and the slave pushes the fingers on the pressure plate releasing the clutch so the vehicle can be shifted or stopped, releasing the pedal engages the clutch allowing the pressure plate to press firmly on the clutch disk to flywheel turning the transmission and allowing the vehicle to move. Its a 98 altima and if you dont have oil in your clutch would the rpms go high what makes the clutch move.?
The oil has nothing to do with the other problum on the other question you have a master cyl. for the clutch when you push down on the pedel that pushes fluid down a hose connected to a slave cyl. which in turn pushes against the clutch fork to put pressure on the clutch plate that releases the clutch disk so you can shaft. now if you do that in reverse by letting the pedel out then it connects up again and off you go
