I changed the oil and oil filter today in my 06 GSXR 1000. I also adjusted the clutch according to the maintenance manual. But the in first with the clutch lever pulled the bike still pulls itself a little with first gear. When I rev the engine, it looses pull.
I put the bike on a race stand to check a few things
clutch in neutral = no spin
clutch in first = no spin
release clutch in first, pull back in = wheel spin ( feels like clutch is still 1/3 out)
I adjusted both ends of the cable according to the manual, and also the slipper clutch tensioner on the right side. Is this normal after an oil change? I've had it do this before, but it kind of fixed itself last time. Just wondering what causes this - Sorry its such a long ? - Thanks - ShawnClutch sticks after oil Change (06 GSXR 1000)?
either: you used an oil the clutch doesn't like (wet clutch), you need to bleed the clutch lines, or you adjusted it wrong.Clutch sticks after oil Change (06 GSXR 1000)?
I had a GS1000E and had a prob with the brake lever, like yourself I adjusted both ends of the cable but with little difference. I then had a strange idea and over night left the cable hanging with some weight to try and straighten it, also spraying the inner cable with WD40. Re-attached it following day and all was roses. My local bike shop said it may have been simply a twisted cable. My pet hate is GSX and GS1000's is cam chains and self adjusting
