1991 ford f150 oil pan problems?

Hi, I was looking into buying a 1991 ford f150, and i hvaen't personally seen it yet, but I know that the oilpan is rusted, and is slowly leaking oil. My question is if getting to the oilpan is an easy task, or a difficult task.1991 ford f150 oil pan problems?
Not that bad . Undo motor mounts and carefully raise motor with jack under crank damper and lift about 2';. Get yourself a one piece gasket from Summit Racing and you can work it into place. Make sure front and rear are seated in bearing caps. Don't use any silicone or sealer , just clean surfaces good. Replace and torque bolts. If there are no other leaks I would suggest Castrol syntec.1991 ford f150 oil pan problems?
im not sure whether the cross-member runs through the oil pan. i had this problem with oil pans on my 77-79 lincoln town cars. i wrote and told them 2 make a heavier oil pan but got no reply. see if you can make a deal with the seller on replacing the pan. but the ford 150 is a great vehicle. good luck mike
You will have to unbolt the motor mounts then get a eng hoist to left the motor up high enough to get the oil pan past the K member
