a friend told me this type of oil is only for older cars and will certianly cause damageI have a 2005 focus 1.8 petrol, now i put adsa's econemy 20w50 oil is it going to cause problems?
yes, it would do you very good to change that oil out now. a 2005 focus requires either 5w20 or 5w30 oil. 20w50 is incredibly thicker, and it will not circulate enough to lubricate the engine. the tolerances and areas for the oil to pass through is designed for the thinner oil (ei, 5w20). you can end up wearing out your engine with the 20w50 because the oil will not get around like it is suppose, AND your engine has to work so much harder to push such that thick oil, thereby allowing the engine to run basically unprotected and tear itself up.I have a 2005 focus 1.8 petrol, now i put adsa's econemy 20w50 oil is it going to cause problems?
20w 50 is mainly used for tractors.I would use 5w 30
