Oil causes a lot of pollution, so why hasn't oil the same problems of coal?

if you had a truck of mercury, and a truck of sand, and spilled 'em both, which would be harder to put all back in the truck?

obviously whichever flows faster would be harder.

the solid material doesn't walk away.

the liquid does.

on the other hand, coal creates more CO2, since it's almost all carbon.

moving coal around is just different. Oil causes a lot of pollution, so why hasn't oil the same problems of coal?
Its called refined......oils are refined to remove impurities and catalytic converters on vehicles basically burn any residues...so not much left going out the tailpipe.

Coal is burned more in its natural state.....with smokestack scrubbers.

Now the talk is ';Clean coal technology......whatever that is.......Oil causes a lot of pollution, so why hasn't oil the same problems of coal?
It seems a divinity in some nations. It's because it's not unappreciated enough...
