Could be. Check where all galley plugs are and maybe you might get lucky. Alternatives: oil pick up to close to pan, bad pump,bad relief valve in pump. After that it gets worse.73 mopar 340 oil pressure problems?
Didn't that engine have one in the front of the block by the timing chain?
Sorry to hear that. Are the tolerances good? Did you plastigauge your crank before you rebuilt it to see if the clearances were to big? Is your oil pump a high volume unit? Did you leave pieces of silicone or gasket material where they could be sucked unto the oil pump pickup screen?
Check the oil pump ..I hope you used a new pump, sorry to hear of your problem,340';s were a ';SCORCHER'; if built right,but oil press was usually 30-40lbs in my ';stock'; 70 340.
